P&G Hair Care Scientist To Speak At NYSCC’s February 28 Hair Care & Wellness Event

Starting the 2023 theme “Renewal and Rethinking Wellness”, NYSCC is planning a special hair and wellness event on February 28th at Chart House in Weehawken, New Jersey. Speakers include Crystal E. Porter, hair scientist and owner of Mane Insights, and Mike Davis, principal scientist at The Procter & Gamble Company.

Davis announces:

Porter publishes “Lifestyle Effects on Hair and Scalp Health.”

Porter was a hair scientist, Money Insight Co., Ltd.She is passionate about debunking myths and helping others properly care for their hair. As a former cosmetic scientist at Unilever and L’Oréal USA, Porter was able to conduct research and study the biophysical properties of hair in people of color. Not only did she study, she also contributed to the scientific community by writing scientific papers and book chapters and giving presentations on ethnic hair. He holds a PhD in Physical Polymer Chemistry from a technical university.

Davis joins Procter & Gamble Company He joined P&G Pharmaceuticals in 1998 to conduct research on small molecule therapies for peripheral arterial disease. In 2006, he joined P&G Hair Care’s Product Claims Support Division. In June 2011 he joined the Hair Biology Group and now he is Head and Shoulders and he is the lead technician supporting the KeepItAnchored hair growth brand. His research on hair structure has led to a molecular understanding of hair formation and maintenance. He has been a peer reviewer for several journals and is an associate editor of the Journal of Cosmetic Science.

The co-chair of the program is Dr. Amber O. Evans.of moroccan oil and Faradia Edouard Croda.

The event will begin at 5pm with registration and a networking/cocktail reception. NYSCC members are $45. $80 for non-members. Students $20 for him, free for honorary members.
